Here's the trip report. In addition to a full pelagic day with several notable bird guides, I birded two days with the legend himself, Jon Dunn.

The full day van trip on January 16 was really fun and fast paced. The group was an interesting mix of experts and beginners with each person contributing to a successful day. We started as Oso Flaco Lake (which is where I birded the day before so that was sort of a disappointment) but then moved to the Creek and then to Cal Poly Pier. It was a long day with several stops, but lots of bird. We even saw this Bobcat cross the path (right behind two women walking who never saw it). Such a cool sighting!
